Here are the highlights of the British Forces Resettlement Services event at Catterick.
BFRS Event Showreel
BFRS provide the Armed Forces Community with a wealth of opportunities to meet and network with employers across the country.
These events are always bustling hubs of activity where employers and training providers gather together to offer employment and training opportunities for the Armed Forces Community.
Before the event started, I made sure that I knew the itinerary and key moments of the day so that I was fully prepared and that I was standing in the right place at the right time, with the right equipment.
I have been to these events many times, but I always put a strategy together so that I am able optimise the use of lighting and angles that are available. I set up a Gopro in the back corner of the room to capture a time lapse of exhibitors setting up.
My aim at these events is to capture the energy and interactions of the attendees and exhibitors. There is always so much going on that there is plenty of opportunities to capture these moments.
I later go on to film interviews with the exhibitors which allowed them to provide an insight as to what their company does and what they hope to achieve whilst they are there. This also provided extra coverage for them which is always a bonus!
When I edited this video, I looked for some upbeat background music to correspond with the busy atmosphere. I included a variety of angles and compositions to keep the flow of the video more interesting.
The advantage of filming these events is to not only preserve the highlights of the day, but it is also a valuable marketing tool to encourage people to participate in future events.
